Statement of faith
What We Believe
Warrior Disciple stands within historic, evangelical, Protestant Christianity and submits its teaching to the authority of the Bible.
The Bible
We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God, truthful in all they affirm, authoritative, and sufficient to equip believers for every good work. The Bible is the final standard for doctrine, faith, and Christian living. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:160)
The Triune God
We believe there is one true God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, sharing the same divine nature, attributes, and glory. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
God the Father
We believe the Father is the sovereign ruler and sustainer of the universe, perfect in holiness, wisdom, justice, goodness, and love. (1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6)
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is truly God and truly man. He lived without sin, died willingly as a substitute for sinners, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return personally and visibly. (John 1:1-14; Isaiah 53:5-6; 1 Corinthians 15:1-5; Colossians 1:15-20)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully divine. He convicts the world of sin, gives new life, indwells and seals believers, sanctifies them, guides them according to Scripture, and equips them for service. (John 16:8-14; Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 5:16-25)
Creation and the Fall
We believe God created mankind in His image. Adam and Eve sinned through disobedience, bringing guilt, corruption, and death into the human race. All people are sinners by nature and practice and cannot rescue themselves by personal merit or effort. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3; Romans 3:9-23; Romans 5:12)
Salvation
We believe salvation is by God's grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Jesus bore the penalty of sin on the cross and rose from the dead. Sinners must repent and trust in His finished work. Those whom God saves are justified, adopted, indwelt by the Spirit, and kept by His power. (John 3:16; Romans 5:6-11; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-5)
The Christian Life
We believe believers are called to love God, love their neighbors, obey Scripture, pursue holiness, bear the fruit of the Spirit, serve the church, resist sin, and make Christ known. Good works do not earn salvation. They are the fruit of God's saving grace. (Ephesians 2:10; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 John 2:6)
The Church
We believe all true believers belong to the universal Church, with Christ as its Head, and should commit themselves to a faithful local church for worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, the ordinances, service, discipline, and mission. (Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:24-25; Colossians 1:18)
Baptism and the Lord's Supper
We believe Christ gave the Church two ordinances: baptism of professing believers and the Lord's Supper as a remembrance and proclamation of His saving death. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28)
The Great Commission
We believe the Church must proclaim the Gospel, make disciples of all nations, baptize believers, and teach them to obey all that Christ commanded. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:18-20)
Civil Government
We believe civil government is ordained by God for order and justice. Christians should pray for leaders, honor lawful authority, and obey the law unless human commands require disobedience to God. (Romans 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:13-17; Acts 5:29)
Death, Judgment, and Eternity
We believe every person will face judgment. Believers will dwell forever with God in resurrection glory, while the unrepentant will endure eternal judgment. Jesus Christ will return bodily, defeat every enemy, judge the living and the dead, and bring about the new heavens and new earth. (2 Corinthians 5:6-10; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:1-4)
