The good news

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

The deepest need of every man is reconciliation with the holy God who made him.

God is holy and worthy of our worship.

God created all things and rules over His creation with perfect holiness, justice, wisdom, goodness, and power. He made mankind in His image to know Him, worship Him, love Him, and obey Him. God is not one part of our lives among many. He is our Creator and rightful Lord.

We have sinned against God.

Every person has rebelled against God in thought, word, desire, and action. Scripture says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Sin is more than making mistakes. It is lawlessness and rebellion against the God to whom we owe everything. The wages of sin is death, and no amount of morality, religion, charity, or personal improvement can erase our guilt.

Jesus Christ came to save sinners.

God the Son took on a true human nature and was born of the virgin Mary. Jesus lived the righteous life we have failed to live. He perfectly obeyed the Father, yet He willingly went to the cross as a substitute for sinners. There He bore the judgment deserved by His people and fully satisfied the justice of God.

Jesus truly died and was buried. On the third day, He rose bodily from the grave. His resurrection declares His victory over sin and death and confirms that His saving work is sufficient.

Salvation is received by grace through faith.

God commands all people to repent and believe the Gospel. To repent is to turn from sin and self-rule to God. To believe is to trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work rather than your own goodness. Salvation is a gift of grace. It cannot be earned.

Those who come to Christ receive forgiveness, a right standing before God, adoption into His family, the indwelling Holy Spirit, and eternal life. They are then called to follow Jesus in faith, obedience, fellowship with His church, and growth in holiness.

Come to Christ.

Do not rely on your upbringing, church attendance, baptism, good intentions, or comparison with other people. Turn to Jesus Christ. Confess your sin, trust Him as Lord and Savior, and rest in His death and resurrection as your only hope before God.

"Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners."

1 Timothy 1:15
